Oh I hope someone joins in with a 914 subbie conversion...I hope...I hope...I hope.
My brother has a 78 914 and has been scouring the yards for an EJ20 (WRX?) engine....no luck yet but he'll eventually find one.

where are you from? My buddy had one of those engines. I'd have to see if he still has it.

Me too...I've been trying hard to get the word out on other forums. Some admins take offense to me posting links etc. on their forums. I've been getting the word out one pm at a time.

There was a 914 on fleabay that had the non-turo Subie engine swap. It was for sale, but needed some sorting out still.
That engine is perfect for the 914.

Sounds like a cool project! But didn't production end for the 914 in 1976?

76 was the last year for the 914 so if he has a 78 it is a rare car. :D

I think its a 78, with a 1.6L engine....might have the 8 and 6 switched here.....could be a 1979....hell, it could be a honda at this point.

My guess it that it is a 1976 914 1.8. They did NOT make 914s after 1976. Over the years you could get a 1.7, 1.8 or a 2.0.
In my case I will take a EJ25T-STI thank you very much!!;)

No 1976 914's came with a 1.8L engine they were all 2.0L engines for the last year. I have added a few cubic inches to mine with a LS1. I'm working on a couple of Subaru 914 conversions now using both a 4 and a 6cylinder and the Subaru transaxles.

Ernest,
Are you also "blk914" ? I wonder how long it will be before your site is up? I visited a month ago and it is still the same. I look forward to seeing everything about the kits listed on-line.
