I guess I'll be the plank owner (first crew to set foot on the deck of a new ship) on this section of the forum...
Since I plan to be, as far as I've been able to determine, the first to do a VR6 conversion into one of these cars, I am planning to upgrade the interior as well, so that when someone looks at the car, I won't have to be embarrassed by the appearance of the cracked dash which is so common to these cars, especially the early models like mine, as well as the somewhat timeworn interior, which is beginning to show its age. To that end, among other things, I plan on recovering the dash with either a dark brown or deep green Alcantara fabric, with matching center inserts on the seats and door panels.

Does anyone have an idea on what the price is per yard?

Craig helped me put in the new dash into the an 84. It was a pain in the ass but we got it in. I ended up using autometer gauges for my speedo / tach.

Alcantara is the name brand and is $85 per yard. AKA "ultrasuede" (for home use) Alcantara is automotive use. Most places that sell alcantara have a minimum purchase order.....$$$$$

But it looks great!
