Y'know, i'd hate to think what would happen to this board if those horrible images were to come back up again. As an alternative, may i suggest torrents?
Simple, and nobody has to go to court. The 944 manuals are already there. Just make a .zip file of all the images and start passing them around. If anyone has a better idea, i'd love to hear it...

great work on getting the site up and running. I can't believe what is going down on the "other board"

Hopefully this is a great success.

Question though. Can Renegade work to shut this down as he strong armed porschehybrids.com?

Best wishes to all.

Speedy:)

That will not happen. I'm actually on good terms with Scott at Renegade. I would rather not comment on what went down on the other forum. I would like to keep the bashing to a minimum and hopefully everyone can just move on and have fun! That's what we're in this hobby for right? As a matter of fact, I posted a link to this site on porschehybrids and Scott posted a very nice reply. I half expected it to get deleted! So don't worry guys we're not going anywhere.

I'm working on a detailed CA smog write up and will post it as soon as possible. I've also been posting on a bunch of other hybrid sites to try and attract other builders. My goal is to have a forum full of not only great Porsche conversions but also anything else that is home built and hauls ass! Lets try to get some good content up and get this thing rolling!

Thanks,
Craig

dunno - being associated with integrating some pretty high end signal processing equipment, I see all sorts of technology repackaged and marketed as 'new and improved'. This is how I saw Xschop and Genes' work. As long as they didn't cross the line and market RH components as their own creations, I don't see how RH has a case to support what has been done on the 'other board'

With all due respect to Scott, all of that stuff about closing down the other board was horse hockey . . . . I have a few (25+) years as a lawyer and I know that even if you have a patent you could not shut down an entire board. Something called the 1st Amendment controls that issue. Only the patent infringer would be subject to a suit.

Nuff said.

Kudos to Craig and Ryan.

Right on mark a. I agree. I'm not a lawyer but have worked closely on many projects at work when we were challenged or we challenged competitors patents. And there are no patents involved in this case anyway.

I'm with you on the kudos. I really like the idea of other types of conversions. It will attract much additional talent other points of view to this board.

Thanks guys. We are working hard to attract other types of conversions. This type of forum has always been in the back of my mind and I figured now would be a good time to do it.

I want you guys to know that I'm still focused on 924/944/968 swaps though. I don't want anyone to feel like this forum is going to forget about them!

It's a bit of a juggling act though. One of the BMW guys replied "looks like a Porsche forum, I'll pass". I think in general most hybriders are open minded though, you almost have to be right?

Hey all.

I lurked around the other site for a long while and just came upon the takeover. I followed over here. I have dreamed of a conversion for some time, but who knows if and when it will happen. I hope you don't mind me lurking around here as well.
