I took the car out last night and left it out of the garage. I woke up and it was raining lightly. I normally don't drive it in the rain, but the car was already out and I had to run a few places. So I was driving the beast around and I made a right-turn at a major intersection. I had it in 2nd and should have had it in 3rd, with the roads as wet as they were. To add to that, there is a lip in the intersection which pops the weight slightly off the rear end for a moment, and to top it off, I gave it just a hair too much gas. Add up a few minor oversights and I had one major result. I ended up spinning my car 180 degrees in the road and came to a stop about 2 inches away from slamming the side of my car into a huge curb. Everyone saw it... it was busy and thankfully no one was behind me. All I could do was laugh my ass off for about 5 seconds.

Glad you and your car are ok!
I did something similar recently. I lined up next to a mustang on an industrial back road. I was waiting for him to pull along side me but the light turned green and he jumped on me. I was so pissed off that I was trying a little to hard to catch him. When I shifted into second I gave it a bit too much gas and ended up spinning across the median onto the other side of the road! Luckily it's not a busy street but man I felt really stupid. I should really know better by now!

Thankfully I haven't had that happen. When I race guys I have always "glided on" (meaning I don't just slam it to the floor when shifting, etc), but only because I have an N/A tranny right now. Thankfully I have enough HP to be nice and still stay ahead of any car I've been up against. I can't wait to get my drivetrain done... it's not financially responsible to do it right now.
