I just had to show these off. I've been talking with Constantine (from r***list) about getting new TT bearings made for the 944's. I can't take any credit--all i did was ask, and today these showed up in the mail!

Comparison, old vs. new:

PLEASE NOTE! THESE ARE PRE-PRODUCTION!
The casting on these looks great to me, but he says the final versions will be even cleaner...

Anyone who has done the TT bearings knows what a PITA it is to do, and how hokey the current "fix" is. I can't wait to get these in! He's currently working on some loaner tools to help with installation/removal process, so i have to wait until those get here to actually get them installed.

Very cool! Have you installed these yet?

Yeah, i'm excited!

Not installed yet. Constantine had some installation tools built, so once those arrive i'm doing to document the entire installation procedure. I've seen a picture of the tools and they're pretty nice! Should be much better than any of the current installation/removal methods.

What are the symptoms of worn TT bearings?

Check out Rennlist. There are a couple of good threads over there. Search the 944 turbos and turbo S forum as well as the 928 forum. Also i have seen more on this on a couple of other forums.
